2. Managing risk, developing response capacity
Because it is impossible to eliminate or reduce all supply chain risks, it is vital to develop contingency plans that enable the company to continue to fulfill its promise to the customer, even when the risk materializes.
2.1 Building a robust and resilient supply chain
Reactive risk management assumes that the existing supply chain is robust, flexible and able to withstand the manifestations of risk when they materialize. So we need to understand what resilience means, and then look at the tools.
