2. Technique Form, fill and seal
The words form, fill and seal are used to designate the technique for packaging products in sealed plastic bags shown in figure
9
. It consists of :
form a container by "sleeving" a continuous sheet, usually plastic, sometimes coated paper to make it heat-sealable;
fill the sleeve from the top, after heat-sealing it lengthwise;
Weigh the quantity required for each bag;
and, finally, seal each bag laterally.
