5. Characterization of transport packaging materials
While tests to simulate the constraints of the distribution logistics circuit are carried out on full and complete packages, and are used to assess the suitability for use of a "packaging" solution, tests to characterize materials or empty packages are used to quantify the characteristics and properties of the materials used, in order to describe the packaging deemed suitable for use.
In some cases, or even for specific applications, specification standards are used to define or classify materials.
