4. Double-entry analysis of variance
In many industrial problems, the question arises as to whether two factors A and B interact.
Classic examples are the time-temperature equivalences of heat treatments for steels, or the compressibility laws of real gases, where an interaction is significantly superimposed on what Mariotte's law would predict. Double-entry analysis of variance is a powerful means of rationally carrying out this type of study.
