From the process approach to BPM

Process automation is one of the useful and appreciated functions of today's BPM software tools. Because the BPM discipline developed at the same time as the BPMN modeling language standard supported by the tools, the two have often been confused.

It's only since around 2015 that the BPM corpus has been consolidated, both conceptually and methodologically, and today stands as an international benchmark in process management.
