3. Outlook for micro-sensors
Micro-sensors are evolving towards smaller geometries to observe previously invisible effects, reduce power consumption and improve performance, leading to the concept of sensor networks and nanosensors.
The aim is to take advantage of the small size and low cost of these new sensors to carry out not just a single measurement at a single point, but a series of measurements at different points, in order to obtain not only a measurement, but also an average and a spatial variation of this quantity, or a position associated with this measurement (geographical information).
