New Requirements of the IEC 61511

The new version of the standard introduces both formal and substantive changes. Firstly, in terms of form, the volumes of parts 1, 2 and 3 of the standard have been modified:

• Part 1 is slightly shorter (≈ 80 pages instead of 84);

• Part 2 is almost doubled (≈ 203 pages vs. 71);

• part 3 is more developed (≈ 102 pages vs. 53).

As a reminder, only part 1 is "compulsory"; parts 2 and 3 are informative.

Significant increase in Part 2, which provides recommendations for applying the standard IEC 61511-1 partie 1 is linked to feedback from the previous version of the standard. Indeed, in many sections of Part 1, users were sometimes confused by unclear prescriptions...
