A procedure describes the sequence of tasks involved in carrying out an activity, without going into the precise details of how to perform each task, which is the subject of operating procedures (see Writing operating procedures
[FIC 0395]
). It must define who is to do what, when it is to be done and, if necessary, refer to how it is to be done.
