Understanding the composition of a crisis unit
Set up a well-established crisis unit

The crisis unit must make it possible to :

• advise and propose concrete actions;

• limit the effects of the disaster ;

• to ensure the safety and protection of populations.

It must be made up of representatives of each trade concerned, plus a permanent secretariat. Participants must be small in number, and have access to computers, telephones and video projectors. A dedicated room must be set aside for this purpose, with access to external data feeds from 24-hour news channels, radio stations, blogs and social networks.

A list (memo) of the ten most important people (internal and external) will remind you of their telephone numbers (home and mobile). Access to entry codes and building keys is also essential.
