1. What is competition law?
Competition law encompasses all laws and regulations designed to ensure respect for the principle of free competition and to combat anti-competitive practices.
The Treaty of Rome of March 25 1957 establishing the European Economic Community declared certain anti-competitive practices incompatible with the common market.
In France, provisions concerning anti-competitive practices are codified at
Code de commerce
, and are enforced by the Autorité de la Concurrence and the courts.
