11. Mistakes to avoid
A patent requires a twofold technical skill: in the field of the invention and in the drafting of the patent. Every sentence counts, and is likely to have an impact on the protection, and even the validity, of the future patent. The drafting of a solid patent application cannot be based on knowledge of the field of invention alone, and requires mastery of the rules governing examination for grant, as well as anticipation of possible future grounds for invalidation.
