10. Our advice
This applies to both the form and the wording. The drafting of a patent application is a very important part, since the text as filed determines the scope of protection granted to the invention. Once a patent application has been filed, the scope for amendment is very limited, and cannot in any case lead to an extension of the initial scope of protection: an oversight or error will at best lead to a reduction in the scope of protection envisaged, and at worst to rejection of the patent application.
That's why you shouldn't hesitate to call in a professional during this crucial phase.
