Given the complexity of computing techniques, the constraints on their use and the cost of developing new methods, it is sometimes appropriate for industrial players to carry out their R&D in a collaborative context, involving multidisciplinary teams of academic researchers and industrial engineers.
The example of the "SiNuS" project, dedicated to the development of advanced numerical methods for the shipbuilding industry, provides feedback from a collaborative project funded by two shipbuilding manufacturers in the Nantes region and the IRT Jules Verne.
