Functional analysis: describing a need to define a solution

The most common errors in functional analysis are as follows:

• be satisfied with the opinions of the company's "internal" managers;

• do not challenge the expression of needs ("what for?"), even by users;

• express component functions instead of solution functions, by naming one of its components in a solution function;

• describe a need that is too broad (fulfilled by other means in addition to the reference solution) instead of solution functions, by not using an element in direct contact with the solution in the expression;

• not expressing functions and constraints throughout the entire life cycle;

• standardize the CDCF, rather than segmenting needs and their levels by user category...
