Yet at the heart of the activity of a design office, laboratory or workshop, creativity remains a process in which the relationships between cause and effect are very poorly understood , as is frequently the case in fields where several scientific disciplines meet. Here, the very term "process" is not to be taken in the strict sense of a succession of stages, but in its meaning including the notion of complexity in Prigogine's sense
