7. Mistakes to avoid
The most common errors in value analysis are as follows:
implement tools without mobilizing the "value mindset";
be satisfied with the opinions of the company's "internal" managers;
do not challenge the expression of needs ("what for?"), even by users;
demand precise figures to get started (it's better to start with estimates and then go into greater detail to validate ideas and even implement them);
standardize the solution, instead of adapting it to the needs of each category of user;
over-detailing the analysis: the level of detail can always be specified at a later stage;
hold too many working meetings (5 to 10 are enough, otherwise a 2nd project will be launched) and involve all stakeholders each time (limit the number of participants at meetings and get them to work...
