ABSTRACT

The hot stamping technique applied to micro components has made significant progress over the past few years; as such, the general context of nanostructures has become the subject of a new presentation. After analyzing the hot stamping technique, by means of a method description and some application examples, the hybrid process concept is detailed. Subsequently, the article focuses on providing insight into the hot stamping technique and its progress toward the nanometer scale. A discussion on the development of nanoimprint lithography follows, and the equipment required for this transformation is listed.

 INTRODUCTION

Over the past fifteen years, the hot-stamping technique applied to plastic microcomponents has been a key factor in the success of polymer systems microtechnology. This technology has made considerable progress. Components are no longer simple prototypes that are deep-drawn or stamped, but rather complex components with multilayer structures or integrated conductive circuits. This report provides an overview of hot-stamping technology, which is currently evolving toward the nanoscale.
