ABSTRACT
The IP multimedia domain is the subject of an international standardization by the 3GGP body which also initiated the UMTS standard. The IP multimedia domain uses services which already exist within the Internet. The objective is to provide a support network in order to allow for the development of services independently from the network. It also allows for the creation and rapid implementation of services using the capacities of the IMS. Telecommunication operators, multimedia content providers, computer companies or Internet access providers are all candidates in the development of IMS services.

INTRODUCTION
The IP multimedia domain is the subject of international standardization within the 3GPP organization. This organization is also behind the third-generation mobile network standard (UMTS).
The Multimedia IP domain is designed to provide multimedia IP services by reusing existing Internet services (without necessarily developing 3GPP-specific applications). The general idea is to provide a support network to enable the development of network-independent services, and also to enable the rapid creation and implementation of services using IMS capabilities. It should be noted that telecoms operators, multimedia content providers, IT companies or Internet service providers are candidates for the development of IMS services.
