User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
UDP is described in the

. This unidirectional protocol does not guarantee reliable data transmission, and its data transfer rate is decided by the sender.
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
TCP is described in the

. This bi-directional protocol accounts for a significant proportion of Internet traffic, and enables reliable end-to-end transmission of information while ensuring fair sharing of the resource between users through its congestion control.
