3. Conclusion
A few years after the eIDAS regulation came into force, how would you assess the situation?
The ambition was to enable the development of digital identification systems throughout the European Union. As a result, the use of trust services would increase.
Unfortunately, too many Member States, including France, have yet to notify an identification scheme.
Some would have liked the eIDAS regulation to regulate more services, such as the archiving of all electronic documents.
Others regret that implementation of the standards is taking too long and is spread too thinly. For example, the technical standards for storing electronic certificates have not yet been published.
