3. SSH features
The SSH protocol natively implements a number of functions such as shell on the remote system, file transfer and port forwarding.
3.1 Remote access via the SSH shell
The SSH shell (SSH command) is a secure version of rsh (and rlogin). SSH stands for Secure Shell, just as rsh stands for Remote Shell. Whereas rsh allows you to obtain a remote shell easily, but without a satisfactory authentication mechanism (from a security point of view), SSH provides the same service securely. To use SSH, simply use the ssh command instead of telnet, rsh and rlogin. So, instead of using the command: %rlogin server, just use %ssh server.
