The main pre-Doppler and post-Doppler STAP architectures have been presented, and their relative merits analyzed. The question of whether to choose a pre-Doppler or post-Doppler architecture is difficult to answer in absolute terms. The post-Doppler STAP seems more attractive for its Doppler clutter pre-separation aspect, likely to improve performance on complex clutter.
