1. Example 1: optimizing a parameter (in this case the TR)
The aim is to optimize the reverberation time TR of a meeting room that can also be used as a conference room. The room has a volume V = 250 m3 and a wall area S = 300 m2.
1.1 TR analysis before treatment
Figure 1 shows the octave-band analysis of TR in this room.
For a finer analysis, the resulting plot could be broken down into thirds of an octave, but this improvement would not change the principles that will be applied in this study.
