Adopting a DevOps strategy to develop safety-critical embedded software in avionic systems

This article proposes a method and tooling for deploying continuous certification, showing that mechanisms can be put in place to create all the engineering data (specification, code, unit tests and integration tests) while ensuring compliance with the requirements of the certification process. Based on project management by ticket, our proposal integrates and combines several mechanisms, inspired by agile frameworks, compatible with certification, such as the automation of repetitive tasks (tests in particular) found in DevOps and Scrum, the distribution of roles between team members specific to Scrum, or the Pull/Merge Request mechanism on all software engineering data, enabling independent revisions to be systematized.
