The downhole process conditions existing in LE geothermal wells include temperatures up to 150 °C in the presence of fluids containing CO 2 , H 2 S, and chlorides. Other constituents such as oxygen and mineral scales may also be present depending on the reservoir conditions. An understanding of degradation mechanisms possible under these conditions has been used in conjunction with geothermal well industry experience to provide a preliminary indication of likelihood of degradation mechanisms occurring in the wells.
