Austenitic stainless steels
Fe-Cr-Ni-(Mo) alloys. They have an austenitic structure. Their corrosion resistance improves with increasing chromium and molybdenum content. They are generally supplied in a hardened state, but can be supplied in a cold-worked state when high mechanical properties are required. They are paramagnetic (non-magnetic) in the hardened state.
Austenitic-ferritic or duplex stainless steels; Austenitic-Ferritic Stainless Steels
Fe-Cr-Ni-Mo alloys with a high chromium content (25%) and a two-phase structure (50% austenite/50% ferrite). Their mechanical properties are higher than those of austenitic steels. Their corrosion resistance is generally superior to that of austenitic grades, particularly with regard to stress corrosion. They are ferromagnetic and are generally supplied in a hardened condition....
