7. Analogy with natural or archaeological glasses

The study of natural volcanic glasses or archaeological glasses allows for a broader understanding of the weathering mechanisms of nuclear glasses and establishes connections between laboratory studies and natural systems. These studies also serve to validate models. Basaltic glasses are thus considered good analogs to nuclear glasses (Figure 17 )
