7. Glossary

Nominal thickness

The declared glass thickness, in accordance with the NF EN 572 standard.

Laminated glass

An assembly of two or more sheets of glass with one or more interlayers. This glass complies with the NF EN ISO 12543-3 and NF EN 14449 standards.

Laminated safety glass

Laminated glass in which, in the event of breakage, the interlayer serves to hold the glass fragments in place, limit the size of the opening, provide residual strength, and reduce the risk of injury from cuts or penetration. This glass complies with the NF EN ISO 12543-2 and NF EN 14449 standards and is classified for resistance to mechanical impact in accordance with the NF EN 12600 standard.
