Based on the method of analyzing a woven structure proposed in this article, it is possible to distinguish between different types of fabric according to the warp yarn selection methods (dobby or jacquard). Within these two typologies, there are different fabric type patterns. For dobby fabrics, three sub-types can be distinguished: dobby fabrics with plain warp and weft formulas, dobby fabrics with non-plain warp and plain weft formulas (and vice versa), and dobby fabrics with non-plain warp and weft formulas. For jacquard fabrics, three sub-types can be recognized: jacquard damask fabrics with 1 warp – 1 weft, jacquard fabrics with 1 warp – 4 wefts and jacquard fabrics with 6 warps – 3 wefts.
