4. Conclusion
Lost-wax casting for superalloys is a niche with very high added value, mastered by a small number of players worldwide for the gas turbine and aero-engine sectors. The gradual rise in operating temperatures is making these parts increasingly complex and difficult to manufacture. In addition to the technological evolution towards new single-crystal alloys, we could be moving towards the replacement of metal parts in the hottest areas by CMC (Ceramic Matrix Composite) parts obtained by a process totally different from lost-wax.
