We have already seen with moulded systems that pressure losses are of two kinds:

• regular head losses, which are proportional to the length of the pipes ;

• local or singular losses.

So, as with molded systems, we propose to express singular pressure losses in fictitious lengths, which can be added to actual channel lengths to determine the total fictitious developed length L (in m) of the system.
