1. Die casting
Die casting, often referred to as the shortest route from raw material to finished part, is a high-volume production process in which liquid metal is forced into a metal cavity at high speed to precisely reproduce the shape and dimensions of the cavity.
This process offers the greatest advantages when it comes to mass-producing parts with complex shapes and precise tolerances. In some cases, however, it can be used economically for short production runs.
In fact, the savings achieved on a die-cast part are all the greater as its shapes are more complex and, consequently, difficult to manufacture to tight tolerances by any other means of production. The resulting savings on machining and assembly can sometimes pay for expensive...
