1. History
Essentially three processes for continuous casting of thin slabs have been explored and/or developed. The first two, mentioned for the record, have not yet been applied industrially.
The machine most representative of this type of casting is the Hazelett, developed in the USA in the 45s and 50s and successfully used for non-ferrous metals.
