5. Sizing of a hydrometallurgical process

The various stages of a hydrometallurgical process involve numerous concepts from chemistry and chemical engineering. Concepts in thermodynamics and chemical equilibrium, mass transfer, chemical kinetics, the physical chemistry of extraction processes, and electrochemistry are necessary for understanding all the reactions that occur throughout a process. We will examine the calculation methods for each of these stages in turn.
