3. Application to industrial steels

After describing the localization of nitrogen in the diffusion layer in the case of ternary iron-carbon-chromium alloys nitrided at 520°C, we describe the localization of nitrogen in the diffusion layer in the case of industrial steels of type 32CrMoV13, 30CrMoAl6.12 and 32CrMoV5.

3.1 Nitrogen localization: an experimental approach

To explain the localization of nitrogen in the case of industrial steels, we will take as an example the case of 32CrMoV13 and 30CrMoAl6.12 steels (composition in Table 8 ) nitrided at 520°C for 24 h with KN = 3, which corresponds to a layer configuration of the α/γ′/ε type
