7. Conclusion
Cryogenic nitrogen blasting technology is an alternative to other, less environmentally-friendly methods. Once the action of the jet has been achieved by thermal shock, cracking of the coating and evacuation of the chip, the nitrogen jet "tool" vaporizes in the ambient atmosphere. This technology can be used to strip paint, wax, resin or oxide layers from various substrates, up to coating thicknesses of several millimeters. Nevertheless, it remains an emerging technology: a great deal of research and study work is planned to refine the choice of parameters according to the characteristics of the substrate/coating pair and the desired goal. Another technological development envisaged is the "miniaturization" of the device, so that it can be used more widely on industrial sites.
