4. Characterizing the wettability of superhydrophobic and superoleophobic surfaces
As previously announced, the wettability of superhydrophobic or superoleophobic surfaces is commonly, and in most cases, assessed by the drop-on-drop method. As already described above, a low-wetting surface is characterized by high contact angles and low wetting hysteresis. However, in some extreme cases, contact angles are very high (to the point of being difficult to measure, or with a high experimental error).
