Raw Materials for rubber

Flame retardants are generally introduced during the formulation of mixtures. They include :

• self-extinguishing halogenated products ;

• intumescent products, mainly zinc borate ;

• metal oxides, hydroxides or salts.

Blowing agents are used to produce foam rubber. One of these is azodicarbonamide, which has been declared a product of concern under REACH (Registration Evaluation Authorization of Chemicals – European regulations), and for which substitution measures must be taken.
