The classification of structural composite manufacturing processes is usually based on technological differences. A distinction is generally made between wet and dry processes. This distinction is based on the nature of the constituents used, i.e. prepregs or premixes for the dry process, and polymers and fibrous reinforcements for the wet process. The physical principle that distinguishes these two families concerns the impregnation of fibrous reinforcements, which is absent in the dry process.
