8. Electro-refining
Indium cement is used to manufacture anodes for electrorefining. This can be carried out in an aqueous or molten-salt medium. The aim is to obtain indium with a minimum purity of 99.95%.

The faster the In3+/In0 electrochemical system, the more efficient the separation between indium and impurities. Equilibrium normal potentials (E°) with respect to the normal hydrogen electrode (ENH) are shown in Table 8.
