6. Markets, prices and qualities
The market and prices for selenium and tellurium are detailed and analyzed in the "Economic data" section of the "Find out more" section [Doc. M 2 370].
Around twenty copper refineries worldwide recover selenium and occasionally tellurium. The market is roughly balanced, with supply growth offset by strong demand from China in recent years.

Selenium is largely marketed as a powder, with a particle size of less than 80 μm, whose purity can reach 99.8% with a minimum of 99.5%. There are also selenium granules and merchant selenium products, including SeO2 .
