1.1.1 Obtaining forged parts
Generally speaking, the term forging is used to designate any operation involving the shaping of solid parts by plastic deformation; in other words, the desired part shape is obtained, either hot or cold, by applying a force that causes the part to undergo plastic deformation. This force depends on the geometry of the part, friction on the tools and the plastic flow stress of the material
