4. Vents
Air contained in the cavity, when not evacuated and compressed, causes burns to molded parts or other defects such as incomplete filling, blowholes, bubbles or visible, brittle welds (see [AM 3681]). To allow the air present in the cavity to escape, special devices called vents are built into the cavity.
If you change the material, or even the setting, the rheological and thermal conditions of the filling are modified, which may require you to relocate the vents.
