8. Energy control
Under current regulations, glazing with a high solar factor g and a low Ug coefficient will be preferred (RT 2005 and RT 2012 thermal regulations).
In winter, and especially in summer when the sun is shining brightly, this sometimes results in a significant rise in indoor temperature, leading to unbearable conditions.
It will therefore be necessary to choose between these g-values and Ug for each case, taking into account energy requirements, geographical location, thermal inertia of the building, comfort requirements and the intended use of the premises (homes, schools, hospitals, offices,...
