Many academic research laboratories and large industrial research centers use differential scanning calorimeters, not only for linear temperature programming, but also in other programming modes: step-wise, sawtooth (T-jump) or sinusoidal modulation (MT-DSC). DSC equipment is also used in isothermal mode to study reactions involving energies high enough to be detected.
