Note:
The emergence of very small electrodes poses a vocabulary problem. It is customary to refer to electrodes commonly used in voltammetry, which are approximately 1 mm in size, as microelectrodes. The term ultramicroelectrodes has therefore been adopted to refer to the electrodes described here, which are micrometric in size.
