3. Measurement chain: signal conditioning and processing
The sensor is the first link in the chain. It conditions all performance, in the sense that the rest of the measurement chain cannot provide more information than it can. Nevertheless, various techniques can be used to extract the quintessence of the sensor:
optimal setting of excitation and measurement gain (automatic gain adjustment) ;
optimal zero adjustment (automatic zero correction) ;
optimal conditioning of the measurement signal and its processing (filtering, averaging, etc.) ;
taking into account operating conditions (correction of non-linearities).
