3. Characterization parameters
The transmission characterization of a device under test depends on the incident signal and the transmitted signal. The transmission parameter is the linear ratio between the transmitted voltage and the incident voltage, for the same reference impedance. For any transmission measurement with a network analyzer, it is essential to define the reference plane in amplitude (0 dB reference) and phase (0˚ reference) of the measurement system.
