2. Antenna measurements
Qualifying an antenna, i.e. checking that it meets the specifications, generally involves radioelectric measurements, mechanical measurements and overall measurements. In the context of this article, we will only mention the last two, so that the reader is aware that an antenna must function in its environment.
Antennas that have to operate in hostile environments undergo tests such as :
resistance to wind, corrosion and the weight of accumulated snow and ice;
resistance to vibration, shock... ;
resistance to pressure, dust, sand, etc. ;
life test ;
thermal...
