The factors used to study mixture designs are the proportions of the mixture's constituents . But these components are not independent of each other. The sum of the proportions of a mixture is always 100%. The percentage of the last constituent is imposed by the sum of the percentages of the first compounds. For this reason, blend designs are treated separately.
